Much likeSlipknothas defined nu-metal, Blink-182 has defined everything that pop punk is considered to be.
Since Blink-182 started in 1992, co-lead singers Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge have been dedicated to remaining themselves.
Through a ton of ups and downs,Blink-182 remains a consistent force thanks to decades of career-defining songs.
It was just a start, but it helped build the foundation of their legendary career.
Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker decided the band would continue on.
To fill DeLonge’s spot, they enlisted the help of Alkaline Trio vocalist and guitarist, Matt Skiba.
Alkaline Trio is a punk rock band formed in 1996.
They are known for their hits such as “Mercy Me” and “Radio.”
As time went on, it continued to perform well, and is even gold-certified in the United States.
It took a lot of tragedy to even bring them back together, but they did it.
On the other hand,it would be Tom DeLonge’s last Blink-182 record until their 2023 release.
It turned out to be a masterpiece.
It was yet another classic tune that featured the alternating vocals of DeLonge and Hoppus.
Additionally, the instrumental is a heavier sound for the bandand its dramatic effect matches the song’s subject.
However, in 2022, it all changed when his return was officially announced.
It also marked another studio album, which almost has them pushing the illustrious double digits.
This tune not only opened Hoppus up to his bandmates, but also to their growing fan base.
Making a personal connection like this with the audience certainly helped them become more ingrained worldwide.
However, arguably the biggest track was “Dammit.”
The music video also serves as an important piece of the band’s history asit features drummer Scott Raynor.
This was his last album with the band before he was replaced by Travis Barker.
One of their greatest hits from the 2003 release was “I Miss You.”
As the title states, it serves as an emotional break-up track, but its legacy goes beyond that.
The greatest element of the song is Tom DeLonge’s vocals.
Fans have fallen in love with the strong accent he has while singing the tune.
Additionally, it is their second-highest streaming song on Spotify.
