Understandably, the veteran profiler was distraught, but he moved forward, using his job as a distraction.
At the end ofCriminal Minds: Evolution, Rossi almost died as Voit held him captive.
However, he was eventually saved.
Being schizophrenic, Reid has taken it upon himself to take care of his mom.
In fact, being with her has been one of the explanations for his absences inCriminal Minds.
It may even be the narrative opening for Reid’s return.
