Speaking withCollider, Cook opened up aboutCriminal Minds: Evolutionand the process of bringing the BAU back together.
The Paramount+ show premiered just two years after the CBS version of the police procedural wrapped up.
Cook previously revealedshe almost didn’t return as JJwhen she learned that Gubler wasn’t involved.
Despite this, she’s confident he will eventually reprise his role as Reid onCriminal Minds: Evolution.

I understand that he couldnt do it right now.
We all would love for him to come back, at any moment, and he knows that.
I think he will come back, at some point, to play.
In one of the biggest plot twists ofCriminal Minds, JJ confessed that she hadromantic feelings towards Reid.
When it was revealed that the attraction may be mutual between them, fans were divided over the idea.
Many of them pointed out it was unnecessary considering JJ’s marriage to Will.
That would mean Gubler would have to return to the police procedural to reprise Reid.
Whether or not that will be the path the Paramount+ show takes is difficult to say at this point.
But it seems compelling enough to potentially convinceGubler to finally make time forCriminal Minds: Evolution.
