The series premiered in December 2024 and wrapped up its first installment in February.

Like season 1, the sophomore effort will air on Paramount+ with Showtime.
The announcement notes that the start of production date will be forthcoming.
The series also had over 15 million social media engagements across the season.

These factors contributed to the prequel series becoming Showtime’s most-streamed series in 10 years.

Dexter: Original Sinis not the only part of the franchise with news coming down the line.
Dexter: Original Sin explores the origins of Dexter Morgan as he transitions from student to serial killer in 1991 Miami. Guided by his father, Dexter channels his dark urges through a moral code while starting a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department.
An additional series,Dexter: Resurrection, is scheduled for release this summer.
This would result in the two shows airing roughly six months apart.
