The movie will be an original comedy for Universal, which is untitled.
Powell will star in the film and co-write the script with Apatow.
Apatow will also direct the project.
It will be produced by Powell, Dan Cohen, and Kevin Misher.
An early synopsis says the movie is about “a country western star in free fall.”
Powell made his feature screenwriting debut withHit Manin 2024.
Collaborating with Apatow will also give Powell another edge in his work in Hollywood.
