We watched every episode and talked through exactly where music might be useful.
It was a particularly difficult [score] to get.
InAdolescence, a four-part Netflix drama, the Miller family’s life is upended when 13-year-old Jamie is accused of murdering a classmate. Filmed in a continuous shot, the series delves into the ensuing investigation, exploring themes of family, truth, and justice.
We had material, but at that point we didnt have anything thematic.
We just gradually began pulling things away, pulling notes away, and shortening it.
Then, we went up and recorded them for two days in a village hall.
There were 35 students … plus Emilia Holliday, who joined us.
Shes singing the solo at the end of Fragile,Ridley added.
“We very much hope there will be [a season 2],“May said.
Theyre splitting their attention.
But theres something about the one-shot [format] that demands attention.
Otherwise, youre not quite sure if its a one-shot.
