For most of its run, the first responder drama has steadfastly avoided killing off any major characters.
Bobby catches a deadly virus, deciding to spend his last minutes helping the 118 for one last time.
There was this long period of silence and I said, “Are you serious?”
And he said, “I’m serious, yeah.”
And then I just kind of went into those stages of grief.
Denial, mostly: This doesn’t make any sense.
Why would you do that?
And I continued to fight him on it.
Maybe they’ll change their minds.
9-1-1 is a television series that explores the intense experiences of police officers, paramedics, and firefighters. Premiered in 2018, it follows these emergency responders as they navigate high-pressure situations and attempt to balance their demanding work with personal challenges in their own lives.
Maybe theyll reverse course.
There are a few reasons for that.
Up until “Sick Day”,9-1-1has been a show where the main characters have been indestructible.
Buck (Oliver Stark) has been struck by lightning.
But they’ve also always ended up just fine.
But there are also still hints that Bobby may not be dead.
9-1-1 brought its biggest ever death in eight years, and it was a huge risk to take.
Tim Minear knew this, but also knew it was important.
That will take some adjusting, ahead of9-1-1season 9.
