She has more personality with one off-hand anecdote about Lucille Ball than Shiki has demonstrated over four episodes.
As an aspiring writer, Sam is in awe of Joan’s career and peppers her for advice.
Joan has an intuitive sense of story that blows Sam away.
While I love the show, I want things to keep progressing in an interesting way on the show.
