This was in question because other platforms, like PlayStation, don’t accept devices from older generations easily.
While not every accessory will work, most will, making it easier for current Switch owners to upgrade.
Luckily, many controllers will still function on the new system.
However, they wont attach to the sides of the new console like they did before.
By making the transition easier and cheaper, Nintendo is being mindful of those who supported the original Switch.
This is the opposite of what PlayStation did with the PS5.
This means players have to buy a new DualSense controller even if their DualShock 4 controllers still work fine.
This may seem like a small rise, but it adds up when buying multiple controllers.
These price hikes are not a laughing matter;they’re making gaming so much harder to get into.

This pricing method sharply contrasts with Microsoft’s strategy for Xbox controllers.
However, that should be another reason to let players use other controllers.
This is why I stick to third-party controllers, which tend to be a lot cheaper.
