However, Mat (Donal Finn), Nynaeve (Zoe Robins), Elayne (Ceara Coveney), and Min (Kae Alexander) are on their way to the city, seeking answers about the pieces of the artifact the Black Ajah is looking for while trying to stop her plans.
Now,The Wheel of Timehas released a trailer for season 3, episode 6,focusing on the Tanchico group seeking answers about the objects Liandrin is looking for.
While the trailer begins with Rand and Egwene (Madeleine Madden) seemingly having a confrontation, it quickly shifts focus to the investigative group, looking for answers in a bar.
The trailer also teases scenes with Liandrin herself, including one that hints at her origins from her time in the city as a child.

A Deeper Backstory Can Offer Context For Liandrin’s Motives
The number ofcharacters inThe Wheel of Timeseason 3means that, inevitably, some are going to get more screen time than others.
For season 3, episode 6, this appears to apply to the group in Tanchico, whose search for answers signals the importance of the unit Liandrin is trying to make.She’s not the only one who wants Rand chained, though, with Elaida (Shohreh Aghdashloo) wanting the White Tower to control him because of his power levels.
In the former Red Ajah’s case, though, she wants him to do the Dark One’s bidding.
The Wheel of Time season 3 feels too big and small at the same time, with some compelling characters that can’t overshadow its story issues.
The Wheel of Time follows Moiraine, a member of the powerful all-female organization Aes Sedai, as she leads a perilous quest with five young individuals. Moiraine suspects one among them could be the prophesized reincarnation of a mighty figure destined to either save or doom humanity.
However, the trailer also signifies Liandrin’s backstory from her time in Tanchico as a child is going to be explored.
Given the child marriage she emotionally thwarted in season 3, episode 3,it’s possible this is part of the reason why she became susceptible to becoming a Darkfriend.
SinceThe Wheel of Timeseason 3, episode 5promised a deeper exploration of the city and everything involved, the latest trailer featuring this backstory means plenty of detail will be afforded to the nuanced development of this new conflict.

More Intriguing History Is About To Unfold
Given the major focus Tanchico is acting like getting in the upcoming episode, this concentration on finding and stopping Liandrin could mean progress for the storyline.
This could include some personal stories for Mat, Nynaeve, Elayne, and Min also getting touched on, hopefully bringing the group closer together as they continue their investigation.
With three episodes left, it seems the Black Ajah’s role is finally going to grow more central, just as Rand steps into his role as theCar’a’carn.
