The result has been a character who is increasingly forced to push the moral line frequently in the season.

I don’t think Brooklyn can just be like, hey, everything’s great now.
That’s not the kind of story that we want to tell.
“Sammy is hurt, and Sammy has always put family first.
We liked the idea of Sammy, she’s led with her heart for so long.
There were already cracks in the relationship when we started this series.
It’s not like they went to therapy; they sort of set it aside.”
“The tricky thing was really making sure it wasn’t one-sided.
Everyone’s going to have an opinion.
Some people are just going to be Team Sammy or Team Yaz.
We really took pains to see to it that it all made sense.
“We managed to humanize the Handler of all people,” Kreamer laughed.
“We really liked what happened in the last episode of season 1.
She put the mission aside because she was concerned about her raptors.
They’re her kids, basically.
As we started exploring ideas for this season, that was our jumping-off point.
We knew we wanted to bring her back.
That’s just where things felt like they naturally led.
I don’t know how, but I’m really liking this character.”
That surprising humanity didn’t save the Handler from a gruesome fate in the season 3 finale.
After fighting Brooklynn and liberating her raptors from Santos, the Handler is confronted by another dinosaur.
“It’s one of those things.
At the end of the day though, this was as far as everyone let us go.”
