Unfortunately, the show was cancelled before getting the chance to expand on Centineo’s character.
In an interview withThe Hollywood Reporter, Centineoshared his disappointment with the unplanned conclusion.

It is what it is.
We have a pretty strong cult following.
And with Netflix, it just didnt really fit what it was that they needed, I suppose.
And so onto the next, I guess.

I mean, I learned so much from season one to season two.
And also having such a great cast.
This was worrying, given that season 1 already had only middling ratings.
Netflix is also unlikely to change its verdict, despite having renewedother shows after cancelation.
If its premiere had not come one week afterThe Night Agentseason 2’s release, it might have grown.
Instead, it was overshadowed and cancelled too soon.
