Warner Bros. TV head Channing Dungey explains what’s keepingStuart Fails to Save the Universefrom getting greenlit.
Initially announced in 2023, the Stuart (Kevin Sussman)-centricBig Bang Theoryproject is set to be the third spinoff series in the sitcom’s universe, followingYoung SheldonandGeorgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.
Earlier this year, it was announced that the show would focus on Sussman’s character after secrecy from Chuck Lorre, with Lauren Lapkus, Brian Posehn, and John Ross Bowie reprising their roles as Denise, Bert, and Barry, respectively.
In an interview withDeadline, Dungey reveals the real reason whyStuart Fails to Save the Universehasn’t been greenlit yet.
The Warner Bros. TV CEO stressed thatthe scripts are still works in progress, but they are gearing up for approval and are “hopeful for good news soon.”
She further teased that the material is “very, very funny” from what she has seen so far.

[Show co-creators] Chuck [Lorre], Zak [Penn] and Bill [Prady] are hard at work writing stuff.
Weve seen some material at the studio, and weve had some creative conversations with Max, so we are hopeful for good news soon.
