Zach Gilford On Criminal Minds: Evolution
Screen Rant: Lets dive right in.
Your character, Elias Voit, is a pretty twisted guy, lets just say.
I imagine that required a darker headspace.
Did you have any sort of process on set for how you got into character?
Zach Gilford: No, I dont really work that way so much.
I kind of just tend to do whats on the page.
Youre just there already.
None of this stuff fazes him.
He might as well be mowing the grass.
In the first two episodes, I was genuinely chilled.
Zach Gilford: Luckily, I didnt have to build up a lot.
And its been fun, but yeah, definitely dark.
As you point out, we dont always get to go home with these guys.
Now its a whole new format for the show to follow one person over the whole season.
Zach Gilford: It actually took a little of the pressure off.
It allowed me to take a little bit of ownership over it.
And thats what they told me when I came in.
We get a different way.
Its more like, were gonna get there, but in a much slower way.
Were you a fan of the show before you joined?
Like had you seen any past seasons?
Its one of those things where, if its on, I always get caught up in the episode.
And its different than the other ones that have been on for so long.
Criminal Minds: Evolutionpremieres Thursday, November 24 on Paramount+.
